Let me pause here for a moment because I am feeling the need to share with you what I feel is called a good reading.Reading newspapers and magazines daily is beneficial only if you also carry out a sharp analysis of what you are reading. As you are reading assume that it is not text that you are reading but something is talking to you.Make your reading interactive.Do not just believe anything because it is written in the text.Use your mind.Try to think of your own views on what you read.Ask questions to yourself : why ? how ? what ? etc....This approach will minimize your burden of memorizing and maximize your ability of thinking original and unique points for the essay.
2. Drawing an algorithm for the essay
Outline all the points and views that you want to cover in the essay. If possible , write a rough essay first and include all the points that are to be covered relevant to the topic.Do not worry about the order or arrangement points at this stage.
3. Collecting facts and figure
Your essay should support its statements with relevant facts, proofs and examples.Do not try to be extremely factual as this can lead to errors in your facts and figures.Essay writing is not only about bringing forth your knowledge but it also about hiding your ignorance. It is better to make a general remark rather than a wrong factual remark.
4. Be concise and to the point
In an examination, there are two limits imposed on a candidate - the length limit and the time limit.Great care should be taken that the given restrictions are not violated.Your essay should cover all the aspects of your subject and your ideas but with precision and conciseness.
